A great horned owl is about to settle in for its daytime nap, but clearly my footsteps caught its attention and it wasn't too pleased. The owl stayed perched atop a tall deciduous tree, covered by the green needles. It was only by chance I found the owl after hearing a commotion from crows and squirrel, which directed my gaze upwards to see what all the fuss was about. And there it was, the great horned owl.
